The deep roots that fan out in all directions under the surface are our feelings. In the helpless part of our feelings, you may become frustrated at the ferocity of your angry feelings, and disgusted and shameful at your reactions of helplessness. As a result of these mixed emotions, you feel overwhelmed, anxious and depressed trying to hold on to some normalcy in life.
We can’t run away from the truth, nor can we band-aid old wounds. Controlling or avoiding those feelings without addressing root cause will only let them creep back in over time, like moss and fungus to trees.
Your willingness to pick up a shovel and start digging for the roots is a good first step. The ground can be very hard to dig into. Together, I will help you dig to find those roots that are causing your distress so that you will find a sense of renewed hope and confidence.
Trees offer us more than their mystical connection to spirituality. We accompany each other on a journey into the unknown with many obstacles ahead, each branch giving us a choice of different paths to seek enlightenment and peace.
Just like trees, no two individuals are the same. We have our own beautiful uniqueness, and experiences. Everyone has values and goals. It is up to you to see it and act.
We have an innate drive that propels us toward self-actualization. When obstacles are removed from blocking the path, Karen Horney believed, the individual will grow into a mature, fully realized adult… “just as an acorn develops into an oak”
The deeper a tree’s roots stretch, the more resistant it is to the harsh elements of nature. In supporting this tree grow and grounded, we strengthen the roots with water and nutrients, and cultivate stability and resilience... "when we plant trees, we plant the seeds of peace and seeds of hope".
